Montana State Tau Rho
Bozeman, MT 59717
The Tau Rho chapter of Pi Tau Sigma at Montana State University (then Montana State College) was begun shortly after the beginning of the 1957-58 academic year. Mr. J. L. Fenton of Michigan Pi Rho, together with F. Richard Wocasek was instrumental in fostering interest from the National Council. On May 12, 1958, the Montana State Tau Rho Chapter was formally installed by President C. M. Leonard and Vice-president E. Kent Springer after a petition had been circulated to active chapters.
The Tau Rho chapter has taken upon itself the responsibility for promoting mechanical engineering to high school seniors during the annual Montana State University High School Week. The members conduct tours of the laboratory facilities and have an informal gathering with prospective seniors. The chapter makes an effort to familiarize
undergraduates with mechanical engineering through various pledge projects and displays.
