Annual Chapter Reports

Pennsylvania Sigma Mu

In the Spring of 1968, Professor Donald E. Keyt brought the non-existence of the Mechanical Engineering Honorary Fraternity, Pi Tau Sigma, at the University of Pennsylvania, to the attention of a few Juniors and Seniors. They in turn saw the advantages of having a chapter and prepared the necessary petition. The charter was subsequently granted by the National Council and the Active Chapters.

The University of Pennsylvania, Sigma Mu Chapter was formally installed on April 21, 1968, by the National President E. Kent Springer.

Some of the purposes which Sigma Mu hopes to achieve are: to recognize outstanding students and professors, to create a better rapport between students and faculty, to encourage scholarship, and to represent the ideals of Pi Tau Sigma.
