A petition, endorsed by three faculty and nineteen students, was submitted for a new chapter in 1984. Delaware Phi Mu was installed by President Hudy C. Hewitt, Vice-President W. W. Walter and National Secretary-Treasurer Edwin I. Griggs on April 22, 1985. Twenty-seven undergraduates were initiated as charter members.
