Arizona State Sigma Gamma
Tempe, AZ 85281
In order to stimulate academic excellence in the School of Engineering at Arizona State University, a group of mechanical engineering students and faculty petitioned the National Council for establishment of a Chapter of Pi Tau Sigma. Upon approval of the petition, the Sigma Gamma Chapter was formally installed on April 25, 1964, by the National President E. K. Springer, and Western Vice-President, D. R. Haworth.
As a service to the mechanical engineering students the chapter helps maintain the mechanical engineering bulletin board which contains lecture, job interview, and graduate program information. In addition, the Chapter, by vote of its members selects and presents the "Professor-of-the-Year" Award to the outstanding mechanical engineering professor.
